So, anyway, I know a meager amount of Perl, and I got really bored one night in September. I figured, "Hmm, with Moxy Fruvous appearing on Conan next month, it'll be interesting to see what happens to the amount of web pages on the internet that mention them. Will the number increase, since some people think the appearance will make them more popular? Will it stay about the same? Will it plummet as former fans delete their pages in disgust? Would there really be a chance in hell of that last thing happening? Does the number of hits Altavista returns for 'Moxy Fruvous' really matter?"

Anyhow, I submit to you this little chart. Make of it what you will. At the very least, it's a pretty little picture.

Note: the tremendous uptick in pages around the 24th of October is due to Altavista ruining/redesigning their site. Somehow it magically returns more hits now.
